In the distant future, humanity is no longer on Earth. The reason for their disappearance (or extinction) is unknown, but their absence left a power vacuum that another species had to fill.
Over countless generations, one small species of common bee has evolved enough to fill this vacuum. They greatly increased in size and their intelligence increased, which allowed them to form an advanced society. Calling themselves the Mellifera, they have made impressive technological advances, along with the technology they discovered in the ruins of humanity.
In Apiary , each player controls one of twelve unique factions. Your faction starts the game with a skill, a few resources and workers. The challenge of assigning workers and building a swarm awaits you: explore planets, collect resources, discover technology and create engravings to demonstrate the strength of your faction and earn points. Will you thrive or just survive?
