You are Abelard Lavel, knight sworn to King Charles VI, the Beloved. You live in the city of Paris, in a family estate, near the famous Notre Dame Cathedral. Since childhood, you have been plagued by strange prophetic dreams in which you see scenes of crimes, both past, present, and future. Over time, you learned to use your unusual gift and began to solve crimes that no one else had solved. This has earned you a reputation in town and now people ask for your help with every crime mystery.
The new Chronicles of Crime: 1400 is a stand-alone game, with well-known mechanics but adding unique innovations. You can now use deduction from found clues or testimonies extracted from various characters, but also from mysterious scenes found on Vision cards. These scenes can be from the future or the past, and usually feature characters and objects that have yet to be discovered.
You can also rely on the help of your family members during your research. Family members like your monk uncle who has access to many written texts, your merchant sister who knows something about almost every object you discover, or even your brother, the king's spy, who knows the stories of many of the people you meet. Finally, your loyal dog who will track down any suspect if you give him an object belonging to the suspect.
This game is the first part of Chronicles of Crime – The Millennium Series . In this series you will find three games, from the years 1400 to 2400, with unique cases and crimes, but with several connecting clues. The second part, 1900, is also already on sale.
