Codenames Duet retains the core elements of Codenames – you try to figure out where all your agents are on the table from one-word clues – but now you work as a team to find all the agents. (Why you don't immediately know where all your agents are is a question that will be answered later by the Seimas Committee!)
Together, you must discover 15 agents without revealing a killer card before time runs out to win the game. Each player can give a one-word clue to another, along with a number. After receiving the hint, the person shows with his finger where he thinks the agent is. If an agent is shown – you can guess again, if they point to a civilian – the guessing time is over, if they point to a killer – the game is lost. Unlike regular Codenames , you can continue to guess while only agents are shown, allowing you to go back at any time and try to guess agents again from previous hints.
