Ark Nova: Marine Worlds , an expansion for Ark Nova, adds several new elements to the game, like marine animals, each of which must be placed in new special enclosures that must be placed near the water.
About half of marine animals are reef dwellers and adding a reef dweller to your zoo will activate all reef dweller abilities in your zoo. To deal with the dilution of the deck that naturally occurs as more cards are added, all sea cards have a wave icon, and any time you open that card in the middle, you'll need to discard the first card in the row and draw a new one.
A new fourth university is added to the association board and if you take it, you can choose one of six special universities from the reserve, which have one research icon and one of six animal icons. After taking this registry, you will open the cards from the top of the deck and choose the first card you open with an animal icon that matches the icon on the university you took.
For each of the five action cards, you will receive four alternate, slightly modified versions. Players will take turns choosing action cards at the beginning of the game, replacing their two standard action cards with new ones, which increases the asymmetry of the game.
Also you will find new bonus tables and scoring cards.
The expansion also has alternative wooden markers for the 3 tracks and cute animals to mark the conservation projects you support instead of the usual player markers.
