In Kingsburg, players are rulers sent from the king to administer the frontier territories.
The game takes place over five years, with a total of 20 moves. Each year there are 3 production seasons to collect resources, construct buildings and train soldiers. Every fourth turn is winter where all players must fight against an invading army. Each player has to face the attackers, so this is not a co-op game.
