Shobu is a beautifully designed abstract strategy game for 2 players. In the game, you will find 4 square wooden boards (two of each color) and 16 natural stones for each player, in two colors, with a rope dividing the playing areas.
Your walkthrough will consist of two parts. First, a player can move one of his pieces up to two spaces in any direction (diagonally too), which is called a passive move. Second, they must make a more aggressive move that must cover the same number of squares and go in the same direction as the first move. This second move allows you to push other pieces on the board – or off the board. Remove all of your opponent's tiles from one of the four boards to win the game.
Shobu evokes the feel of both Go and Chess, but provides a unique challenge. It feels instantly familiar, yet completely unique and immersive at the same time.
