In the 16th century, Russia began to expand eastward and develop the vast expanses of Siberia. In history, this period is associated with the word "Stroganov".
In Stroganov , players collect the best furs to earn wealth and fame while traveling the vast lands of Siberia. They will travel through Siberia in the spring, summer and fall, then return home each winter. After four years (rounds), the player who made the best use of actions and collected the most victory points wins.
Every year, players take you east to the Siberian taiga. They can release horses to move further than normal. Once moving, they can perform a basic action like trading or collecting furs or coins. Finally, they can perform more advanced actions, such as visiting villages, setting up a yurt, taking a Caro Noro card, building a hunting hut, or buying a field. All of these actions, along with exploration and a bit of story telling along the way, earn you victory points at the end of the game.
Every winter, players return home to Tyumen to prepare for the next year.
After four years, the game ends, at which point players collect victory points for collecting the right land cards, fulfilling Caro's Wishes, building hunting huts, collecting furs, and more.
