The Battle of Five Armies – a game based on the final battle from JRR Tolkien's The Hobbit – pits Elves, Dwarves led by Dain Ironfoot and Men of the Lake led by Bard the Bowman against hordes of Wolves, Goblins and Bats led by Bolg , son of Azog. Will Gandalf change the fate of the Free peoples? Will the Eagles arrive? Will Beorn come to the rescue? Will Bilbo the Hobbit die in the final stand on Ravenhill?
In The Battle of Five Armies you will find a board representing the Eastern and Southern slopes of the Lonely Mountain and the valleys they lead to. In the box you will also find many plastic figures representing soldiers, heroes and monsters.
The Battle of Five Armies is a stand-alone game based on the War of the Ring rules, created by the same designers, but with rules adapted to a more tactical level of warfare, as the game only represents one battle, not the entire war.
