The empire must fall. Our mission must be accomplished. By destroying their main bases, we will break their power base and free our people. But spies infiltrated us, ready for sabotage. We have to catch them. In five we will rewrite our destiny or die trying. We are The Resistance!
The Resistance is a social deduction party game for 5-10 players that lasts 30 minutes and has no player removal. The Resistance is inspired by the Mafia/Werewolf games, but has its own, unique mechanics that increase resources for decision-making, increase tension, and eliminate player elimination.
Players play as Resistance Agents or Imperial Spies. 3-5 turns, they have to trust each other and do missions to hinder the Empire. At the same time, they try to find out the identities of the other players and gain their trust. Each round begins with a discussion. When ready, the Leader gives the plans to a certain number of people (perhaps even including himself). Everyone votes on whether they are satisfied with the appointment. As the plan begins, selected players choose to support or sabotage the mission. Depending on the results, the mission succeeds or fails. If a team wins three missions – they win the game.
