Although the packaging has been changed, Citadels Revised Edition retains the same strategic, cunning mechanics beloved by players. Each round, players choose character cards that will give them the powers they want to further improve their cities – or hinder their opponents. All this is done in secret, which allows players to bluff and test their deductive skills against other players. Each of the 27 characters has different abilities, so the strategies are also different. Some give more money depending on how many districts your city has, while others allow you to sabotage other players in many ways.
Once players have finished choosing for that round, they can build new districts in the city by placing dedicated cards, add gold to their coffers for later projects by taking gold from the bank, and use character special powers to aid their plans. Strategies for when and what neighborhoods to build are key. Districts allow you to score the most points and get the closest to victory, as the player who builds the best city wins the game. See plans and outwit others as you work your way to the top by trying to guess your opponents' plans and stop them.
