In Cthulhu: Death May Die , a game inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft, you and your fellow players will represent investigators in the 1920s who, instead of trying to stop the return of the Old Gods, want to summon these otherworldly beings so they can stop them once and for all. You'll start the game mad and your long-term goal is to blow Cthulhu's brains out, to put it bluntly, but at some point in the game you won't be able to successfully reroll your dice and your madness may force you to do something terrible… or useful. It's hard to predict exactly.
The game has several episodes and each has a similar structure of two actions, before summoning a creature and after summoning whatever you are trying to summon that turn. If any player resists the call, it's game over and you lose. As soon as the Old God is placed on the board, if even one of you is still alive, you have a chance to win.
Episodes can all be played independently and are not dependent on each other or the number of players.
