During the reign of Emperor Yu, the inhabitants of ancient China were constantly tormented by the deadly floods of the Yellow River. To curb this destructive force, Yao chose Gun, one of his administrators, to create a plan. After nine years of failed attempts using dams and barriers, Gun has now come to a very doubtful end. After his death, Yu inherited his father's work. Learning from Gun's mistakes, Yu decided to construct a series of canals to divert the mighty river to nearby fields and smaller waterways.
Legacy of Yu is a single-player, fully replayable, indirect campaign game where you become the legendary hero of the Xia Dynasty, Yu the Great. Your job will be to build canals against the coming flood, while trying to protect your growing village from the neighboring barbarian tribes. With each game, the stories will continue and new gameplay elements will be added. The campaign has a balancing system that adapts to your progress. The campaign ends when you win or lose seven games.
