Merchants & Marauders lets you live the life of a powerful merchant or a fearsome pirate in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. Pursue wealth by trading, researching rumours, doing missions and of course looting. Modify your ship, buy impressive ships, use special ammunition and hire specialist crew members. Will your captain secure eternal fame and fortune, or will he find a wet grave beneath the stormy surface of the Caribbean.
In Merchants & Marauders , players become the captain of a small ship in the Caribbean. Their goal is to achieve 10 glory points by performing daring feats (by completing missions or researching rumours), destroying enemies (by defeating opponents or NPCs in battles), collecting gold, achieving epic heists or trade deals, and buying a magnificent ship. While the points earned by taking certain actions are permanent, players also earn points by accumulating gold, which can be stolen or lost if the captain is killed. Points for gold are hidden, so there is always some uncertainty as to how the game will end.
