Oathsworn is a dark story game for 1-4 players focused on narrative storytelling and small combat encounters. The game takes place in Deepwood, where the Free Company (known as the Oathsworn) fight for humanity's survival against supernatural horrors and Deepwood itself.
In each installment of the game, players will take part in a story of several possible paths that lead to an inevitable collision. Skirmishes are multi-phase boss battles on a skirmish board where players will need to outwit and outplay board-controlled monsters and enemies. As the sessions progress, the group will dive deep into the campaign where they will gain levels, loot, and new allies to help them on their journey.
Oathsworn has a unique hit-and-miss, exploding dice system where players must always decide whether to cross harder or possibly miss at all. This, combined with a Euro-style recovery system called 'Battleflow', creates versatile and engaging parties.
