Board game in English.
Ora et Labora (Latin for 'pray and work') game, each player manages a monastery in the Middle Ages that acquires lands and constructs buildings – small businesses that will generate resources and profits. The goal is to build a working infrastructure and produce prestigious items – like books, ceramics, ornaments and relics – to get the most points at the end of the game.
Ora et Labora is Uwe Rosenberg's fifth major game, which has similar mechanics to his game Le Havre , like two-sided resource tables that can be upgraded from a simple item to something more useful. Instead of adding resources to the board like Agricola or Le Havre , Ora et Labora uses a numbered marker to show how much of a particular resource is available at any given time. At the start of each round, players rotate the marker by one segment, adjusting resource amounts at the same time.
