Face danger and adventure as you once again search for the most valuable treasures throughout the Caribbean, then quickly find a safe haven to store your precious gold, rare emeralds and glittering pearls. Explore, collect cargo, hire crew and take over rival ships, but don't forget to bury your loot. As you sail, look for a place to settle down after your life on the seas, but before you do, you'll need to beat your opponents, because one trip around the Caribbean isn't going to be enough for you. You will need to complete three such voyages in order to retire as the richest and most famous pirate in history.
Pirates of Maracaibo is a standalone game in the same series as 2019's Maracaibo , and players familiar with that game will recognize many of the mechanics in this game from the original. However, new players can start playing the game without any knowledge of the first game, as Pirates of Maracaibo is an indie game with more accessible rules. The game takes place in three rounds, during which you will sail around the Caribbean Sea, recruit crew, form alliances with other ships, explore islands, collect treasure and finally retire to a distant island as the most famous pirate in history.
