Board game in English.
Scholars of the South Tigris takes place during the golden age of the Abbasid Caliphate, around 830 AD. The Caliph gathered the best thinkers to collect scientific manuscripts from all over the land. Players will need to raise their influence in the House of Wisdom and hire talented linguists to translate foreign manuscripts into Arabic. In this golden age of wisdom and knowledge, you will need to not ignore one to achieve the other.
The goal of Scholars of the South Tigris is to be the player with the most Victory Points (VP) at the end of the game. Points are earned by translating manuscripts, advancing knowledge in various fields of science and mathematics, influencing 3 guilds, and retiring translators after years of service. The end of the game comes when all 4 caliph cards are turned over.
