Inspired by the popular and award-winning board game War of the Ring , War of the Ring: The Card Game allows players to travel to the world of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and create their own version of the dramatic battle between the Dark Lord Sauron and the Free Men in the world of Middle-Earth . In War of the Ring: The Card Game , up to four players compete in two teams of Shadow vs. Free Men, each player using a specific different deck of cards representing their faction's strengths and weaknesses in the war.
The Free Men are desperately trying to complete their mission to destroy the Great Ring while defending their lands against the approaching hordes of Sauron and his dark allies.
Shadowplayers must strike fast and sure before the Fellowship of the Ring completes their mission, or attempt to slowly corrupt Frodo by burdening him with injury, hardship, and grief.
